Farmers in Mato Grosso Have Sold 81% of Their 2024/25 Soybeans

According to Imea, farmers in Mato Gross, have sold 81% of their 2024/25 soybean production, which is up 6% from the prior month. The average price for soybeans in June was R$ 112.22 per sack (approximately $9.25 per bushel). Farmers were motivated to sell because they needed storage space for a record large safrinha corn crop.
For the 2025/26 soybean crop, which will be planted starting in September, farmers in the state have forward contracted 17.5% of their anticipated production, which is down 2.6% compared to last year. The average price in June for the 2025/26 soybean production was R$ 106.73 per sack (approximately $8.82 per bushel), which was down 4.6% from the prior month. Many of the soybeans were forward contracted in exchange for inputs for the 2025/26 growing season.
