2022 U.S Planting, Corn 7% vs. 15% Average, Soybeans 3 vs. 5%

2022 U.S. Corn Planting Pace - The 2022 U.S. corn is 7% planted compared to 16% last year and 15% average. Corn emergence is 2% compared to 3% last year and 3% average. The fastest planting is in the western Corn Belt and the slowest is in the northern and eastern Corn Belt. Planting is also slow in the mid-South and the northern Delta.

As you can see on the table, corn planting has been uneven across the country with the most advanced planting in the western and southwestern areas and the slowest planting in the far northwestern areas. In the Midwest, corn planting is fastest in the western areas the slowest in the eastern areas. The mid-South has also been slowed by wet conditions.

The 2022 U.S. soybeans are 3% planted compared to 7% last year and 5% average. The soybean planting is following a similar pattern as the sorn.
